Hey everyone,

ManageWP took ownership of Broken Link Checker some time ago in order to use its codebase to build an improved version of the same plugin. With the release of Link Monitor in May 2019, this mission has been accomplished. It is an advanced version of Broken Link Checker with additional functionalities that is much lighter on the website resources as everything is run from our architecture.

While our team will focus on maintaining the Link Monitor, we recognise that a lot of users (700K+) still rely on Broken Link Checker and wanted to find a good home for it. It took us a while to find a team that has previous contributions and activity in the WordPress space, good reputation and necessary team size a.k.a. willingness and resources to properly maintain and invest into this plugin.

We finally found a great team willing to do just that and I’m pleased to announce that WMPU DEV team have taken over the maintenance of this plugin.

They already released an update fixing some of the reported issues, and I hope this is a good example of the great things to come.

Even though I would love to support Link Monitor and the folks behind it, one thing I don’t like about it is that it’s limited to 10k links. I’m just an ordinary blogger, but I already have over 25k links on just one website. The free Broken Link Checker doesn’t have any issues with monitoring them all.

@thebrickblogger If you have not monetized your blog to the point where a pro plugin makes sense, Broken Link Checker should be more than enough and a valuable asset to your blog. We are continuing development and hope to improve on performance and introduce new features. That said, Link Monitor is available when you’re ready to take your site to the next level.

If you have taken over ownership and maintenance of this plugin, you should have read through the support pages and done your own checking of PHP issues. Since version 1.11.5 there are have been several updates, which did not correct PHP warnings for previous versions. These warnings still show in your version 1.11.9.

Over a period of almost 2 years support for this plugin has be almost non-existent and I have several times posted some suggested fixes for the problems the last of which was:
