Import WXR from url

  • I’m having problems uploading files onto my site, same goes with photos, files and others. But I want to import a WXR file from a url, would it cause errors such as ‘Unable to upload WXR to wp-contents’ and stuff or would it be okay? If it is okay, how do I import WXRs via URLS?

    Yep.

    Imports from another site are handles in a completely different way to (say) uploading an image. You’ll need to import the file via Tools -> Import.

    That said, if the file is very large, the server may time out before the import is complete. How large is the .xml file?
