Hi

I wanted to import a CSV file that contains my category and subcategories only. I have used the import feature in tools -> import like this format bellow

Categories,
Air Management System,
Air Management System > Air Management System,

but every time I try to import, the blank product is automatically created. How to import only the category and subcategory?

Thank you

• Hi @yohanim

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you want to import categories on your site via a CSV file using Tools > Import, however, this is creating a new product, correct?

When I go to Tools > Import, this is what I’m seeing on my end. Can you please confirm what option did you selected here?

Meanwhile, importing product categories to WooCommerce is not yet supported, hence, you would be needing either a third-party plugin or custom code to achieve this.

Thanks!

Hi @xue28

Thank you for getting back to me. Here is the screenshot of my import section

<span style=”color: rgb(254, 254, 255); font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 18px; white-space: pre;”>https://snipboard.io/YjPnNu.</span>

So how to achieve only import category and subcategory in Woocommerce? Is there any information regarding the database or query or maybe third party plugin (free version please :D)?

Thank you

Hi @yohanim

Thanks for sharing the screenshot above.

I assume that you selected the the option WooCommerce Products (CSV) here that led to the creation of blank products, correct?

Kindly be informed that there is no option to bulk import categories and subcategories to WooCommerce via CSV yet. You might need a third-party plugin or a custom code to achieve this.

Checking our marketplace, I found the premium plugin Bulk Category Editor that allows you to?work efficiently with categories. You can easily?add, update, or delete categories in bulk and use functions like?search and replace (regex). The plugin comes with an inline table editor that let you make changes and save all in one step. In addition, the plugin has a great bulk features for adding, changing, or deleting categories on products.
