    Hi there

We’re rebuilding a clients site on a dev server, so the popular posts are showing currently are my tests. The current live site has plenty of traffic and over 200 posts (but didn’t use your plugin).

Is there any way to take data from WP db on how many times these posts have been previously opened on existing live site and merge the data into this plugin? Maybe it’s possible using Google Analytics data?

    Thanks,
    Todd

    Hi @toddedelman,

Unfortunately no. Out of the box WordPress doesn’t store any pageviews data on the database so unless you guys were using another popular posts plugin to keep track of pageviews or had a custom script in place to do so I’m afraid you’re out of luck.

While it’s possible, this isn’t something the plugin can do. You’ll need to find a way to export data from GA and then import that into WPP’s database tables.
