Hi, I am having an issue with this plugin in that when I try to import an exported backup file, the upload process gets to a certain spot (sometimes 7%, sometimes 29%, 46%, 55%, etc.) and then restarts at 0, and this happens over and over again until it freezes entirely and I have to stop/cancel it.

I was able to use this plugin without any issues about an hour ago, on the same server, with a WordPress site in a different sub-directory – I exported a WP site from one sub-directory and imported it to a different WP site in a different sub-directory and it works just great! I have repeated the same steps this time, exporting a WP site file from a sub-directory site and am trying to import it to my root-level WP site but am having this issue.

I am using HostPapa as my host (which is listed as supported) and I have set memory_limit, post_max_size and upload_max_filesize all to 1GB (maximum allowed) in my cPanel PHP Options.

I have followed your guide and have made sure the PHP versions are the same, and I have also recursively set permissions of the /wp-content folder to 775.

I used the Traktor tool to make sure there was nothing wrong with the exported .WPRESS file, it seems good.

When I check the error log, I see this (but I’m not sure what it means?):

    Feb 18 2019 18:17:53
    {"Number":2,"Message":"filesize(): stat failed for \/home\/ssmcw763\/public_html\/wp-content\/plugins\/all-in-one-wp-migration\/storage\/sfx8yih0mmt7\/ssmcwl.ca-20190218-180558-756.wpress","File":"\/home\/ssmcw763\/public_html\/wp-content\/plugins\/all-in-one-wp-migration\/lib\/vendor\/servmask\/archiver\/class-ai1wm-archiver.php","Line":227}

I downloaded the WP Extractor program and was able to extract everything from my .WPRESS export file, but how/where do I upload these files/folders manually with FTP? If I was trying to import the file into my root directory WP site, do I just delete all the WP files and folders that are currently in my root and upload the extracted files and folders there instead?

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide!

Try to reinstall WordPress, apply the limits again, and the import the file. You did not mention if you have increased max_execution_time. You need to increase it too.

Hi Yani, thanks for your reply.

I tried your suggestion, but it is still not working. Here’s what I did:

    1. Increased max_execution_time to 600 seconds (10 minutes) in cPanel PHP Options
    2. Wiped existing WP site from root folder
    3. Re-installed a fresh copy of WordPress 5.1 in root folder
    4. Set permissions of /wp-content folder to 775
    5. Installed All In One WP Migration plugin on new WP site
    6. Exported fresh .wpress file of WP site I want to transfer
    7. Checked exported .wpress file with Traktor tool, seems fine
    8. Tried to import the file using the plugin, it gets to about 20-30% then restarts or freezes completely

Export file size is 185MB, but memory_limit, post_max_size and upload_max_filesize are all set to 1GB in my cPanel PHP Options.

I have tried several times, but this behaviour keeps happening/repeating.

Do you have any other suggestions/advice for how to proceed with the import? I am very confused. Thank you very much

No, that is all that have been known to cause problems. You might be on an unsupported hosting provider :/
