Import to a development site

  • Hello,
    I exported my WordPress site and then imported it to my staging site so I could work on changing the theme and updating the site. When I imported the site using the import all option from WordPress none of my store locations imported.

    If I spend time re-entering the addresses on this staging site will the be deleted when I move them back over to my live site?

    There’s nothing in the store locator that removes locations by itself. Also pretty sure the all import option won’t delete location / data when you create an export.

    Did it show any errors when you tried to import them?

    Hi Tijmen,

    There were no errors when I imported my live site to my development one. Everything imported fine except when I opened the store locations none of the store listings were there.

    This is how I imported the information:

    WordPress
    Run Importer
    Import posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags from a WordPress export file.

    If you go back to the site you want to export the data from, and only select ‘ Store Locator’ on the export page. Then import that file on the other domain. Does that also not work?

    If the above also doesn’t work, then may search for an ( csv ) export plugin on www.remarpro.com itself, and try it that way.
