    Hi there,

The timeline on the imported comments are off by about 10 hours (into the future). Comments that are posted directly on my website are in realtime (ie, the WordPress settings are accurate), and comments on the Facebook post are in realtime, yet when they get imported, the seem to go into the future that hasn’t yet come to pass.

For an example, see https://sooke.pocketnews.ca/sooke-commuters-sooke-road-closed-this-morning/ … You’ll see that the first posts (earlier comments) are in the afternoon (it was on a post about an early morning fire), yet at 12:11 pm a reader notes that all of the previous comments are from later this afternoon.

It makes it hard to accurately report traffic impediments!

I’ve looked into the Developer App, which I have set up, and I can’t find any time settings there. I’ve looking at my FB page, and I can’t find any time setting there… How do I get the Facebook comments importer to correctly note the time?

Love your plugin! And, thanks for any suggestion you may have!

    Yours,
    Britt

    Hello Britt,

This problem can appear only in case if your website timezone is not the same as time on facebook. Our plugin can pull only date returned from facebook API.

If you want, you can contact me by email so I can take a closer look at your website, maybe we can implement some hack that will solve this problem.

    Thanks, Ivan

The same case for me. My timezone is at UTC+8 and the comments’ time as indicated in my WordPress installation are off by 8 hours compared to that in my Facebook page. So it seems it imports time as if it were at GMT time.
