• I’ve recently updated to 2.5.1

Random Quotes seems to make the import tab “disappear” from the “manage” menu.

    Any ideas?

  • No ideas on how to fix it. But in case anyone else has trouble importing tags: I couldn’t figure out how to import my tags from Ultimate Tag Warrior (UTW), until I compared my admin panel with a friend’s, and realized that my Import button is missing. You can regain the Import button by deactivating the plugin. If you are using WP-Quotes, don’t forget to re-upload edit-quotes.php to the wp-admin folder.

I’m having the same problem; have installed Random Quotes and noticed today I was missing the import option. Thought I’d been looking at WP too long, as I could NOT figure out where it had gone. Very glad I checked here, as I was just getting ready to deactivate plugins, one by one, hoping to diagnose the problem, which was triggering Mac OS 7.5 flashbacks.

Sadly, I have nothing to offer by way of a fix but, fortunately, if it’s a case of needing the import, you can always deactivate the plugin, import, then reactivate Random Quotes when you’re done. Worked for me.

I think I found a workaround for this. I checked my wp-admin directory and verified that the import.php file was indeed there. Then accessed it directly. It worked fine, and there was no need to deactivate any plugins. Just use something like this:

    https://your-blog-url.whatever/wp-admin/import.php
