• I’ve got WP3.5 up and running on HostPapa – imported the data from one blog (WP.com) but it’s not showing up – I’m still getting the default blank blog. Also – have done the config for more than one blog on one site – can anyone point me to a link with directions on how to install two blogs?? Where do I import that data for the second blog? Trying to get the first one up and running – but wondering if I should be setting up another folder or what??

  • I have two, and the second is a sub-domain that is a separate installation located inside public_html.

I’ve actually created two separate installs in the public_html folder. But nothing is coming up anymore. When I type in my domain I get “Error establishing a database connection”. I’m beyond frustrated with this process right now.

You might have already tried this, but just in case not: I have had times when my browser cache has apparently had things all confused while I sit here with two Dashboards and identical logins at one IP. So, do you make regular use of something like CCleaner? Also, you might give the folks at your server a call. I have my sites at BlueHost, and the support staff there has always had a solid solution every time I have had any trouble.

If you are still having this problem, I know someone who has said this to me about my own sites and can likely help you:

If you decide you want the sites to be identical they can be set up with forwarding (easiest and cleanest) or if they are on the same host you can use the same database with the same information in wp-config, both sites must have the same theme and plugins installed. Otherwise they can certainly be set up independently…
