I’m working on a store that needs the Square product import/sync feature. However, imported products need additional setup in WooCommerce before they’re ready to be offered on the website.

Is it possible for the imported products to default to Draft or Private status?

    Hi @mlewlp

Currently, the WooCommerce Square extension has no built-in feature to directly import products as draft or private. When you import products from Square, they are automatically published on your WooCommerce store.

However, there’s a workaround you can consider. After importing the products, you can manually change the status of these products to ‘Draft’ or ‘Private’ from your WooCommerce dashboard. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Navigate to ‘Products’.
    2. Select the products that you’ve imported from Square.
    3. From the ‘Bulk Actions’ dropdown, select ‘Edit’ and click ‘Apply’.
    4. In the ‘Status’ field, you can choose ‘Draft’ or ‘Private’, then click ‘Update’.

I understand that this might not be the most convenient way if you have a large number of products to import, but it’s the best workaround currently available.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Thanks!
