Import Posts without using WP to upload xml file

  • Is it possible to run the script that puts all the content from the ‘wordpress.2009-11-13.xml’ into the db tables without using the ‘browse for file’ option?

    i.e. because of some permissions issues, I just FTP’ed the xml file onto my server, can I join the import script in the middle?

    The first page of the import process is ‘/wp-admin/admin.php?import=wordpress&step=1,’ I tried going to step 2 like so (/wp-admin/admin.php?import=wordpress&step=2), but the page just said “Are you sure you want to do this?”
