We are getting error messages – since the latest plugin update about server rejecting the 20 record imports.

The import process has slowed markedly.

To my knowledge we have not altered any settings on our server.

Perhaps you might suggest a server setting which might solve this?

Meantime how would I get an earlier version of the plugin to compare?

    Please advise?

By security hole – do you mean that the script has a back door entrance for hackers?

My version updates has not given a reminder – the latest version.

I will do some more tests in the context of you testing it on your own server and let you know and Enduro bikes know our findings.

I also have major problems with this plugin, was importing a record every 23 seconds, now after importing 2000 records, only every 3 – 5 minutes.

Spent weeks arguing back and forth with Louis about his plugin. His line of argument defied logic. Louis just fobbed me off in the past, I doubt you will get much help from him.

    wyliewolf100 –

Yes you are correct on all counts. That allies with verything we have found.

But I have now realized that contradicting anything from that quarter invites the most aggressive “support” answers suffused with implied threat that I have found quite exhausting.

It is obvious to them that there is nothing wrong with their plugin and that all the fault lies with your installation/server/theme ad nausea.

Add to that – the repeatedly contradictory and increasingly bellicose advice that support gives on the same subject – it has become my personal nightmare.

Which culminates in the rightly identified conclusion that it works just fine on their server and a myriad other “answers” which as you rightly say defies logic – but you cant tell em – and then risk another shouty – entirely illogical broadside…….suffused with an undercurrent of how stupid we are…..

How this helps us as punters is still un-known.

I also now believe that the security patches are essential because we were hacked by viagra salesmen and after deleting the plugin stopped getting hacked.

I dare not – bring that up in case the support of Hades is lumped on us.

The plugin has got a lot going for it – but for whatever reasons becomes un-useable on repeated use – for who knows what reason.

But for as long as it evidently works for them – under their conditions – thats fine – for them and I cant see that changing.

And if it aint broke for them – well thats just dandy.

Gonna try one last time with the latest version and will report back my findings. I want the darn thing to work….grrrr

    Endurobikes – hope that helps?

I have my developer looking into this, will feedback what I find.

I usually always had great support from wpallimport.

Lately I have to admit, that I have contacted the support 3 Times about the slower imports. Truly I also not getting any Feedback what so ever.
The plugin is great. I was so satisfied with the plugin, that I offered them to us my online shop as a reference for the new tutorials.

    To wpallimport Support:

Would it be possible to get a view of your
    phpinfo page?
    i.e:
    https://www.wpallimport.com/debug/phpinfo.php

I saw in some earlier Posts that you’re saying that it works on your servers.

That way we can compare and tweak our server settings to get the desired results.

that would be great and really helpful.

    Hi,

i purchased the plugin last friday and have the same problems like u.

I want to import 12000+ products..but then it stops on 4% or 6% and so on.

Now im not at home and using my laptop on another wlan network and just run the import to test it. My Browser is chrome, but i think its another version like this on my home desktop. If u didnt solve the problem, just test your import on another browser or network, it may solve the problem..

    please write back your results!

If you are with Godaddy its probably your hosting settings – they timeout imports very quickly.

Other shared hosts do the same.

That said we have a private server and the imports are still too slow.

Sofly say they dont know a whole bunch about servers – but are convinced that the slow importing problem lies with their customers servers.

    Make’s sense doesn’t it?

…and why the process need the open browser-tab? The process is running on my server and not on my computer. If i use a cron-job, my computer can be offline and the process runs too..

Server Settings can be tweaked desired.
That’s why I wanted to know if they could send us a link to their php info file. That way we could just adopt the settings.

2 Weeks ago I wrote WP Allimport Support that I tested the import on there demo server and that it was working faster there.

Then I wrote them again, with some more ideas, XML Feeds, Login for my WordPress Sites.

Then I get this answer after 1 week:

    – Send me a copy of the import file(s) you’re using
    – Recreate the issue at https://www.wpallimport.com/debug/
    – Send me the URL and password to your debug server
    – Explain the issue in detail, with screenshots and links to the problem

Im gonna try again, send them everything and hope it will then finally be fixed.

Actually I can’t quite understand this issue at all. Because I have been using this plugin for years. It has always been working great and fast.

Why should all of a sudden, all the customers have a server issue? It just doesn’t make any sense to me.

If you fancy the wretched trip – read through this thread. It does not make any sense to me either – but I tried patiently to wade thru the increasingly bizairre logic.

Support predicated their anwers with – there isnt a problem and set about proving that very conclusion by testing the thing on their server and then telling us how great the results were……and take their word for it! capice?

I then tested it again and found the same problems.

We have a faster server than theirs and have maxed out our import settings [yes I know settings can be adjusted]. We have another 2 import plugins which we are testing which dont crash.

Yes it would instructive to see their settings and their shyness about this is odd given their certainty that it is all about server settings.

I agree entirely with what you say – and was weakly attempting jocularity….and the face of what is a wall of denial.

when I first got the plugin it was quick and exciting.

the last three months it is pretty well un-useable.

    ….but you cant tell em.

I will try with the latest version and report – it may have been fixed! I will be the first to thank them.

Maybe we should just be patient.
Then they will bring out an update and everything will be ok.

If it’s an issue which takes longer and can’t be fixed right away is also fine with me. It would be nice to know if it takes longer, so that I’m not trying and wasting my time through searching on my end.

Hello, i have solved my problem ,it was the browser. I did a test import once with chrome and once with mozilla. The import on mozilla worked without problems.

Please also make this test and post your results. My server settings are max_execution_time 75s. The whole import has indeed been a long time, but I have no experience with the plugin since I’ve been using it for 4 days only.

How long did you used with predecessor versions of ~13000 products?
I hope I could help some of you .

    This is Chrome
    https://www.pic-upload.de/view-26720471/chrome.jpg.html

    This is Mozilla
    https://www.pic-upload.de/view-26720494/mozilla.jpg.html

…the test import was exactly the same on both browsers.

At 2600 records, was importing at 1 records evey approx. 20 seconds in the beginning, now one record every 10 minutes. That means if it does not slow down further, it will take about, wait for it…..

76 days to import 11000 records, what a joke.

Where are you Louis, last comment 3 days ago. Oh and that is not the only problem with this plugin, there are more!

Mox2k your Mozilla import only looks like an incremental update, that means that only 103 records were updated as apposed to the whole 13999 bieng imported. The other thing is using cron jobs does not use a browser. I had the same problem you got with Chrome when I used Firefox.
