    Hi,

I want to import a user file into my website. The import file will have the same format as an export I made from the existing 2 users.

I want to enter a start password for the new users.
    Is that possible?

    Regards.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

On import, we auto generate the password and send the reset password link to the existing user so that he can set a new password and if the user is not exist then we create a new user with auto generated password. You may use any plugins which allow mass password reset once you import the users successfully.

    Hi Patrick,

    Thanks for your reply.

I tried to import one record (to see if it works), using the Import Users posibility.
After selecting the csv-file the plugin shows that the import was OKE.
But opening Users there is no new record visible.

    What can be the problem?

    Hi Patrick,

I like to give some more information about mhy new users.
I try to import 400 users from an excisting excell-file, as the Iserswp plugin seems a good solution for me to registrate my members.

If there is no posibility to import users (using import by UsersWP) do you know an other plugin that’s compatibel with UsersWP?

Hi, CSV files shouldn’t be created with Excel. Excel tends to leave a lot of formatting and change data in cells and it is not made to generate CSV files.

OpenOffice or LibreOffice are better choices.

Let us know if using the right tool work.

Otherwise please send me a link to the file you are trying to import and I’ll check it out for you.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

I made the file with excell, but then I converted it to csv.

Please find enclosed my test-file (only 2 records). Name and email were imported al other items NOT.

Opening the file with OpenOffice I see the data is separated by semicolons and not commas (CSV = Comma-separated value). Make sure when saving the file to use commas as separators and try to import it again.

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

I have changed the semicolons in commas and after importing this file I see this message:
    [uwp-users-export-aangevuld.csv – 578 b].

But non of the 2 records was imported.

A new test-file used and after importing this message:
    uwp-users-export-aangevuld-test3-commas.csv – 425 b

    No results ??
