Import of linked posts fails

The greater part of my photo blog – all attachment posts containing the links to the image files – were not imported into a new empty blog. It would be helpful for advanced users if the failure log were somewhat more verbose, eventually indicating how details in the import file could possibly be scrubbed and polished for a retry. I will import the posts now completely by hand.
