    Hello

    Thank you for great plugin!

    We are in testing phase of the plugin. Idea is to use the plugin for import multilingual listings. Testing system have installed WPCasa, Polylang and Wp-All-Import and included both WPCasa bridge addons for polylang and wp-all-import.

    Testing XML is multilingual, defined with lang_id attribute for text area fields, other fileds are mostly numerical.

    However implementing the XML works properly and recognizing different languages but prints only one language, i.e for Italian translation text fields are in English, same goes for any other tested language.

    XML have such hierarchy
    {description[1]} = <description lang=”en”>
    {description[2]} = <description lang=”it”>
    and
    {title[1]} = <title lang=”en”>
    {title[2]} = <title lang=”it”>

    How can I map the wp-all-import plugin to recognize the language id and print correct language for each implemented language?

    The team at WPML created an add-on to support multilingual imports: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-all-import-plugin-website-import-with-wpml/

    Unfortunately, we don’t have an add-on for Polylang, so you would need to use WPML if you want to import multilingual content using WP All Import.

    WPMl plugin would mean changing my whole setup. Said this WPML plugins often tend to over complicate quite simple tasks. Polylang its just better and more importantly less stress to work with.

    I read WPML documentation & as much I understood they support only CVS imports and require to have a separate CSV for each language, which basically means I will have to pay their license then do extra work to test it.

    However I found a solution so I’m trowing it out there for anyone facing same problem.

    My setup is wp-all-import, wpcasa, polylang, wpcasa polylang addon and wpcasa wp-all-import plugin + multilingual XML, languages activated and ready to use.

    When importing first language save template.
    Under taxonomies, categories and tags tab activate private taxonomies. On top of this section a language options will be shown, map it based on your XML.

    This is how to map it:
    Each Listing has just one Language
    Choose any multilingual field in your XML and add it to the field (for example title or description of the listing.)
    Enable Mapping for Languages
    Map it using this same field added previously to language locale i.e. title is translated to en_GB or it_IT

    Save template again and proceed to import.
    Under WP-all-import settings download the template.

    To add new language.
    Re-import existing XML, on third step of wp-all-import setup import existing template and map it to language as per needs, proceed with import and thats it.

    If you have no specific text area fields added to your XML but everything is category or tag based using option Each Listing has multiple Languages will work and add correct values to correct language.

    Also, could you describe more these steps of mapping and then adding new language? I have been trying to re-create the scenario, but have failed. I am really missing something and need your help. Waiting for your reply. Thanks!

    Sorry I can’t send out the XML because of data on it, but if you explain what happens I may be able to explain. Are you able to map main language? Does it show the data you are importing?

    Hi @danc77, please can you reexplain step by step how to match different products by using wp all import?
    For example I have csv (or xlsx) with such columns: SKU; Name; Description; Price; Language. Let it be like this:

    1; Product A; Description Product A; 5; en;
    2; Продукт А; Описание Продукта А; 5; ru;

    As a result after importing I have 2 different products with different languages, but I cannot link them automaticaly? How to do it?

    Sorry for late reply.

    I’m not using woocommerce so not sure if I can help here.
    The setup in my casec has a bridge plugin to connect between wpcasa and wp-all-import. Once all is set recognizing of the items in various languages went automatically.

    Woocommerce has own set of custom fields and I never dig deep enough to see how they relate to each other

    @danc77 Thank you for reply, I have only one problem with importing posts in different languages: post are imported successfuly, but not linked (maped). The question is how to link products?

    See the problem here is that in my case I used a specific bridge plugin from WPCasa which translates terms for WP All Import. Such plugin was written only for this scope and works with WPCasa and WP All Import only.

    With Woocomerce story is different. Unfortunately I never used Woocommerce with wp all import.

    In such cases good thing would be to check on Woocommerce forums if anyone had it working with polylang and wp all import specifically.
