• I am not yet using wordpress, but plan to do so. My concern is that I currently have my website hosted on Intuit Websites. I don’t think I can import it into WordPress, which would mean have to create all 560+ pages from scratch on WordPress. Intuit is very easy for a novice like me to use which is what I liked about it in the first place, but has certain limitations such as no RSS feed for the blog, etc. One nice thing about it was you could call their support for help so I am nervous about switching although sooner or later I know I have to do it.

Here is my current website if that helps to show the problem: https://www.thecatholictravelguide.com

Thanks in advance for your help and guidance.

  • Hi Gloria333,

I have had a browse of the Intuit website and I can’t find a way to export your existing content to a new WordPress installation. I believe this process would have to be a manual one.

    Kind regards

    Dear Jamie:

thanks for the response. I thought that was the case but hoped it wasn’t. For now I think I will just move my blog to WordPress (have to get a separate URL unfortunately) and stay with Intuit for the website for a while. Sounds like the manual process of changing the website would be a nightmare since I don’t even know WordPress.

    Hi Gloria333,

No problem. I don’t think the manual process would be that
bad, would just be a lot of copy and pasting.

    Kind regards
    Jamie

    Jamie:

Thanks for the encouragement. With Intuit I use frames–just put a text box and then type in it. Can place it anywhere I want on the page. Same with photos–move around, re-size, whatever.

Is WordPress as simple as that? I am hoping so.

    Best regards,
    Gloria
