Import Hanging at 4%

  • Hi,
    I am having the same problem as many recently – I am trying to import a copy of a development site into a new production website (i.e. domain name change).
    The import hangs at 4% every time. The import Wpress file is only 154mB, with 4681 files. The webhost for both the development and production sites is 1&1.

    I have tried every solution that I have seen in these support threads:
    1. exported the development site with v. 4.17, 4.10 and 3.9 and tried to import into a newly created WP installation (which has no other plugins).
    2. ditto using the most recent development copy of your plugin.
    3. tried all of the above but copied the WPress file to the new WP installation via FTP, and used the Backup function instead of import.
    4. I have also tried letting the import run for hours and then tried to open the site in another tab (assuming the notification is at fault). This yields the same result as always – a white screen with the following message

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Product_Subdomains in /homepages/26/d479133348/htdocs/clickandbuilds/Tarot365/wp-content/mu-plugins/product-domain.php on line 12

    Relevant things to note:
    1. the import always hangs at 4%.
    2. all previous versions of the plugin that I have tried no longer work (and I have used these versions without a problem in the past, with earlier versions of WP).
    3. never had a problem with the export, only the import
