    Hi!

First of all, thanks for a great plugin. I guess this is wot I need. I already set up the user-submission thing, and it works so fine.

Then, I would like to import all my links into the system. Wether i use different CSV (versions) types, it won’t let me import. I use Excel 2010 to import your template (and seperates with either commas or semicolons) and when I then I filles in all my data I save it as a CSV file (either a DOS CSV or one of the other versions possible).

Bpoth way doenst seem to work.

Could you provide me with the CSV file so I can try loading it on my side? You can upload it using my contact form: https://ylefebvre.ca/contact-me

Hi Knud, The file you sent me uses semi-colons (;) instead of commas to separate the items. If you look at the original template, you will see that it used commas.

Look at the Excel export options to change the delimiter and you should be able to load the file once it uses commas.

WOW – now I got lucky. All my links are now imported via the plugin … (with no error). However it is strange – Excel 2010 on my computer does not allow me to export with a comma – so i had to use: “https://www.zamzar.com/convert/xlsx-to-csv/” to convert – and it helped!

But but but … I have a question,

In the field “name” I simply just wrote link
and in the field “description” i put the name data – silly me.

Can i export (fix it) and then do the import again?

    thanks
    Knud

Yes, if the URL is the same, it should update the entry instead of creating new ones. Maybe just test it with one or two first, then do all of them.

Donations for Link Library can be done through Paypal from my personal site here: https://ylefebvre.ca/wordpress-plugins/link-library/. I am not seeing your donation if you just made one, and they usually appear pretty instantly on Paypal. Did you do it from this page?

Might do ?? My life has almos been saved – I saved a lot of time and irritations and so on.

But … down to basics …

The data in “Descripton” and “name” field has been put in wrong … how do ifix this in the easiest way?

    (@jackdewey)

As I said, if you re-do an import, it will update the links where the URLs match.

Hehe … yeah … I did this CSV thing over many days … so they are all gone.

Am looking after a plugin that can do an export thing ??

Oh, you can just re-export all links from Link Library, under the General Settings page.
