Import from Soundcloud GUID Matching not working

    When importing our podcast tracks from Soundcloud the only Advanced Option that is matching successfully is “Match episode by post title” which means we must manually keep our titles between WP and SC in sync and updated to avoid duplicate WP posts on import.

    The Match episode by GUI and by filename are not actively matching, is there something that needs to be switched on in WP to activate the GUID matching? It would be useful if we could depend on GUID matching and not Title.

    Thanks for bringing to our attention!

    First, it appears matching the guid is never going to work well since the guid value that soundcloud uses is not a web friendly value. WordPress will not use GUID’s which are not web URLs unfortunately.

    The episode file matching option should be working but I see there is a bug that is causing this option not to work properly. I’ve fixed this bug in the development version and will be included in the coming release. I’ve done some tests and the episode file matching should be reliable for SoundCloud importing.
