• I know that Mike is working on a way to convert MT content to word press and doing core stuff is probably more important. But I have some blogger.com archives I want to convert. I have an import file which I created for exporting to MT (which I didn’t use). I’m assuming that I can upload a file into wordpress, and possibly add a few surrounding tags. Can you give me a brief idea of what’s involved? Thanks.

  • Take a look at the file blogger-2-b2.php. It gives instructions on how to modify your Blogger template so that you can convert Blogger archives into WordPress entries. What happens is that you change the template in a certain way and republish the server. blogger-2-b2.php looks for these files and parses them so that it can insert all of your entries as database entries for WordPress. There are pretty detailed instructions if you run the script (you have to hit a “Go” button to start it, so it’s safe to view).

I noticed that b2 had this file, but I didn’t see it in the download I unzipped. I’m guessing that was intentional?

Okay there’s a new file in the CVS called blogger-2-wp.php. It’s the import script updated for WordPress. If you would be willing to try it out or give me a copy of your archives I would appreciate it.

I am still working on the old version with b2: blogger-2-b2.php. I am very close to success here. I would really appreciate it if you could read my post and help to determine what is wrong with the upload of the archive into MySQL. If I could get this work on b2, I would be more than willing to try getting it working on WordPress. Here’s the link:
