Import from b2evolution: Problems with german characters

    I tested importing my b2evolution entries into WordPress using this tool here:

    Unfortunately it seems that Germany special characters (“Umlaute”: ??ü ??ü ?) will not imported correctly and looks like “?” afterwards.

    If you look into the mySQL database you can see that the b2evolution entries reflect German characters without any coding. If you look how WordPress will save them you can see that they are encoded with some strange characters.

    Any idea what I have to change to be able to import the entties correctly?
