Import from another WordPress only shows half of old post

  • I did an export/import via a specially formatted XML file from another WordPress but only post after 2007 show up. There should be post from 2010.

  • Check the database and see if the other posts are in there, but just not showing online. If they’re not in there, then either your exported backup is bad or else the import failed.

    If the exported backup is bad, you’ll need to get it again. If your import is failing, make sure that your memory_limit and upload_max_filesize are set high enough to support your import. You may need to check with your host on those particular settings.

    You can also just try re-importing the same file again, and see if it picks up more of the posts. It will automatically skip over the posts that it has previously imported.
