• Hello!

Thanks for the great plug in.

I recently upgraded to 2.0.40. When I try to import folders, no folders are listed. All of the galleries appear to be working fine, there are no other issues that I have seen.

Any idea how I can get these folders to show?

    Thanks a lot!

    Other Details
    – Self hosted (PHP 5.2.17, MYSQL 5.5.34-log)
    – NextGen Gallery in 2.0.33 was conflicting with Jetpack and throwing an empty div into my rss feed. I had to disable and reenable it several times to figure that out. Upgrading to 2.0.40 removed the issue, but maybe reenabling things reset some settings?

@douglasvautour – Where are the folders located that you are trying to import from?

    Hi!

    Thanks for your quick reply.

They are contained within the wordpress installation wp-content/gallery. It is the same folder I was using in 2.0.33. It is still set as the gallery setting in the option. There are currently 9 folders within the gallery folder. None of them show in the import folder menu.

All of the current (functioning) galleries are from the same place.

I just tried to upload an image from my computer and got a PHP error, even though the file seemed to upload correctly. It went by too fast to get it, I’ll try again. Maybe this has something to do with it?

    Thanks again.

    Hello again

    The error message was:

An unexpected error occured. This is most likely due to a server misconfiguration. Check your PHP error log or ask your hosting provider for assistance.

But, there was no problem with the upload.

@douglasvautour – Aside from updating NextGEN Gallery (and Jetpack?) were there any other changes to the site … a new conflict with another plugin may have been introduced. Could you look at that?

If you are still not finding the cause of this then please feel free to submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a closer look at what might be going on.

We will need log in and FTP credentials for your WordPress installation, please include those with the Bug Report, too.

    Thanks!

    Hi.

Okay. So, because I was having problems, I didn’t change anything except updating jetpack. So guess what? So I disabled Jetpack and the folders popped right up.

    So….where to now? ?? I require both plugins…

    Thanks!

    More Information!

I reactivated jetpack, and everything is still fine. I connected to wordpress.com, and then the folders in the “import folders” menu disappeared again…

Note that existing folders are still okay.

    Any ideas?

Ooops, that should read “Note that existing galleries are still okay” as in they still work and display correctly.

Hello, I have exact the same problem. I have on the same server 2 domains with WP single user installations. In one installation the folders are showing up, in the other they don’t. I can’t select any folders to import from. Any help is much appreciated.

I’m still working through this with Jetpack support. They have given me an option that I think may work, it involves deleting the plugin directories manually from the server via FTP, and reinstalling, which should clear out everything but maintain the database.

There is a problem with Jetpack and NextGen colliding that results in this, and a damaged RSS feed. Do you have the RSS feed issue as well? Perhaps my issue is different from yours.

@douglasvautour – This is the first report of Jetpack being active and creating an issue with NextGEN Gallery folders being visible. I use Jetpack on all of my sites and have not seen an issue with live or test servers related to Jetpack.

Please let us know if this issue persists after the manual re-installation of your plugins, and by all means feel free to submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) with the details as well.

    Thanks!

Hi, I can’t divulge my details to do a report (which is why we stalled above), but I’ll post here if what I wrote immediately above solved the issue!

@douglasvautour – Fair enough. We just want to help you make sure this is sorted out … and take anything we need to back to our developers if there is some underlying conflict we can resolve as well.

    I appreciate it!

I found the failure. It’s a conflict with the “Counterize” Plugin v.3.1.5 by Gabriel Hautclocq. When I disable this plugin the folders are showing up.

    Oh well, I thought I had a friend! ??
