Import fails – permissions error

  • I set up a new blog @ https://fbs.wkrib.info/blog/

    When attempting to import an XML file which was exported from
    another WordPress blog:

    You don’t have permission to access /blog/wp-admin/admin.php on this server.

    The permissions on blog/ and wp-admin/ are 755, and 644 on admin.php

    Are those correct? What else could cause this?

    I tried – on both directories and the file – although I can’t believe they should be left open to everyone. Now, I get a 500 error on trying to get to the blog’s site admin page.

    The installation of the blog was by softalicious. I’d really not prefer to try a manual installation, but if there’s no other possible solution, I’ll do it, hoping that Import will then work.
