Import fails – All services freezes..

I ask your support because my import procedure does not work

I imported a copy of a drupal DB on my server ande the connection parameteres are corrects.
The database dimension is 7.9 MB
When I click “Test database connection” the button is clicked but I do not receive any message (not wrong neither right)
Then I click on “Start Import ” and all freezes also my server hosting ((register.it)) of the website in wich I try to import content of the DB.
Do you know this problem? Could be the DB dimension? What can I do to resolve?
