Import / Export problem with MySQL

  • Yes I am having a problem with MySQL, nothing new there

    I am moving my blog from https://www.eamonlane.com to https://www.stpiduko.com/blog

    eamonlane is hosted by webmania.co.uk and stpiduko is hosted by Godaddy.com

    Everything went according to plan, managed to install wordpress and set up the mysql data base and tested with a simple entry

    As I had the blog on eamonlane for some time I want to be able to transfer all the entries and comments

    using the export freature of mysql on webmania I download files to my pc and then tried to import using mysql on godaddy,

    Yep got errors, I’m told the file is corrupt.

    Just to check if anything was wrong with the new blog I imported using an RSS feed. This worked. but I’m not able to import comments.

    I might be wrong but, webmania uses MySQL 4.01 and I imagine godaddy uses MySQL 5.

    Anyone any ideas on how I can resolve this issue
