I need to restore one of my wordpress databases back to 9/11/18. A plugin update is causing some issues. The only problem is I don’t want to lose my woocommerce order records from 9/12/2018. The research i’ve done shows that you can go to phpMyAdmin and export the wpau_postmeta and wpau_posts, which supposedly contains the order records, and import it back once the database restore is complete. Is this correct? Will this cause any issues such as order duplications or anything like that?

Wait a minute.. Apparently WordPress has a build in import/ export tool located under the tools tab. Would this work? Could I just export orders and import them back after the database restore? Would the imported orders override the current orders or cause duplicates?

Not necessarily. If you have people who checked out as “Guest” they wouldn’t be in there. If I remember correctly. Your better off downloading a DB from your myphpadmin account and then restoring from there. Check with your host to see if they have a snapshot too and when the last one was.

Great host like WPEngine have it right there for you and snap a shot every hour.
