I exported from one WP site but received the following when trying to import: “Import data could not be read. Please try a different file.”

I am using multisite and added wie to the allowed file types in my network settings, but I still get the same error.

I am running this plugin only on one site, however (i.e. I did not “network activate” the plugin).

I’m also using some widgetized plugins on the site from which I’m importing (for example: Twitter Widget Pro), but mainly they’re text widgets.

The only active plugins on the site at this time are WP Visual Bakery Composer and Revolution Slider.

    Any ideas?

    Hello,

That error indicates that the file’s contents are either empty or could not be decoded (possibly invalid json data or the file is corrupted).

Can you check if the file contents are empty or appear corrupted?

If you re-export, does it import okay?

If you deactivate all plugins then re-export, does it import okay?
