Import Error

    When trying to run an import using the duplicator installer, I encounter a 500 error. The error log reports:

    PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘case’ (T_CASE), expecting end of file in /home/website/public_html/installer.php on line 977

    The line refers to “case 2”. Not too sure what to change in the installer to get it to work.

  • Hey @neiliid,

    It looks like the installer may have gotten corrupted at build or maybe during the download. There should be another copy of it inside the archive.zip file. Its named installer-backup.php try and see if that one will work.

    Thanks for the help on this, there were three issues to resolve:

    1. Mod rewrite needed to be enabled
    2. The extraction needed to be manual
    3. As noted in original reply, the installer was corrupt, the packaged installer was needed.

    Sorted these out and the installation worked flawlessly. Used the WP plugin Velvet Blue to update URLs in the database once restored.
