import custom metadata (user) for buddypress + email to creat account

    Hello there,

    How are you ?

    One of my friend told me about your great tool ??

    I have a csv file with more than 20 columns (meta data like phone, address..).
    This is all about my “community”

    I would like to import them to a new wordpress and your tool to :
    > send an email, for each import user, to that user in order to “activate” the new account.
    > use their email (only) in Mailster for my monthly newsletter.
    > use, after the import, the users and their metadata into buddypress.

    Is these 3 points ok wi with your plugin ?

    Good morning,

    Yes, you should do it without problems with this plugin.

    Prepare a CSV, prepare the email that is going to be sent to every new user and all will be done.

    I just try it.

    Error message :
    In French :
    Problèmes avec l’utilisateur :MARVRE, nous allons abandonner.
    Erreur : Identifiant utilisateur non valide.
    In English :
    Problems with the user: MARVRE, we will give up.
    Error: Invalid user ID

    I have a an xlsx file, and made an export to csv using semi colon delimitation.

    My first datas are :

    username email id member_id civilite
    MARVRE [email protected] 12 mmp5247 Mme
    Boua [email protected] 18 mrj3557 Mme

    id : personal id
    member_id: previous id number (from our last website).

    Do you have an idea where the problem is ?

    For your information, all the Extra profile fields loaded in previous files are correct.

    In fact, I got a column named “id” … I delete it, and no more problem ??

    I send an automatic email .

    Do you mind to tell me where or how the user can see the extra field ? (address, birthday, city,… ) ?

    In the mail options tab you have it explained:

    You can use

    **username** = username to login
    **password** = user password
    **loginurl** = current site login url
    **lostpasswordurl** = lost password url
    **passwordreseturl** = password reset url
    **passwordreseturllink** = password reset url with HTML link
    **email** = user email
    You can also use any WordPress user standard field or an own metadata, if you have used it in your CSV. For example, if you have a first_name column, you could use **first_name** or any other meta_data like **my_custom_meta**

    Again, sorry, but I’m lost ??
    I have my own metadata.

    for example, a column named “codepostal” for postal code.

    So, the column, in the cvs file look like this :

    codepostal
    75011
    93320
    91450
    91450

    I have a “codepostal” for each user.

    The import was ok, so where can I find the “codepostal” information in each user profile ?

    Or how to find it in the buddypress profil ?

    No, read documentation please.

    We give support to problems but it has almost 1,5M downloads and we create the documentation tab to avoid solving doubts that are explained there.
