If I import a list of subscribers from a .csv file, what happens if some of the subscribers already exist? Do they end up with double subscriptions or does the plug-in throw an error? If it does throw an error, do the other subscribers in the .csv file get imported properly?

  • Hello,

If subscribers already exists, it won’t import again and won’t affect other subscribers.

    Hope that helps.

It would be great if the error message would be clearer. For example, “Error, duplicate subscribers”, and not “215 email are invalid.” with no other details available.

You could also add this information in the Import instructions.

Actually, that doesn’t seem to be the issue. We don’t have any subscribers and are trying to import from a csv file matching your instructions. All we get is the message “215 email are invalid”.

    Please help.

Messages are clearer than what you describe. I just imported at .csv file. Here is the message I got:

    1 email imported.

    333 email already exists.

    1 email are invalid.

You might want to check the format of your .csv file. Each line should be like this:

    [email protected],John Smith

If you have commas (or maybe some other special characters in the names, you might try putting double quotes around the names.
