Import Comma Separated Values in one field as Distinct?

This plugin is great! Definitely powerful and flexible.

Hoping you have an idea how to solve a problem that involves an import from CSV. Simple example using “Flavors”.

In Excel, in one column, “Flavors”, we have items similar to these:

Apple
Apple,Orange,Banana
Orange
Orange,Banana
Banana
Etc.

When we import into WordPress, the custom field we import into is seeing each option as unique and creates a Checkbox for them. We are using Advanced Custom Fields.

Instead, the distinct checkbox values should be:

Apple
Banana
Orange

And we want to be able to select Apple only or Apple/Banana, etc.

Any idea how to “normalize” this data without going into every post and redoing the checkboxes manually? We have hundreds of Posts.
