Import as Attachment works but ignores standard item_description
-
Hi,
Firstly this seems a useful plug-in, thank you. I’m actually just needing to use for a one time task, to import some images.WordPress 5.7.2 and Feedzy RSS Feeds Lite v3.7.0
Perhaps this a bug but I’ve found after several hours of testing that importing from a valid RSS feed as post type set as ‘Attachment’ is ignoring the [#item_description] field.
It correctly imports the [#item_description] field (and also item_title and item_date for that matter) if the Post Type is set to ‘Post’, but not when I set it to ‘Attachment’. Only the Item_Title and the actual image imports. However, I realised it creates a second entry in the media library with the correct title, date and published date but without the image! So it seems to be creating to seperate records.
GOAL:
Attempting to import images with a description (or caption) into WordPress Media Library, using a valid RSS2.0 with just 1 image item to start with for testing.PURPOSE:
Eventually I need to import just once around 200 images, exported from a third party non-Wordpress gallery using RSS. Once imported, I can then remove that Gallery, as the images will be stored in WordPress Media Library ready to use.Whilst I can easily bulk import from FTP etc, I really want to use the Title, Description and PubDate from the RSS feed to save a lot time.
Hopefully I have provided enough info and these screenshots should help.
Thank you.
