    Hello,

I am working on activating Yoast breadcrumbs. Since entering the code in Theme Editor for my child theme is a bit confusing, I just entered a shortcode [wpseo_breadcrumb] on my post. Seems easy, but before I enter it on all of my posts I wanted to ask you…

Does it make a difference for SEO if breadcrumbs are activated through Theme Editor (large code) vs inserting the shortcode separately on every post?

I am asking also because implementing the shortcode is recommended for breadcrumbing Pages. I am intending to use it for Posts.

    Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

@somenoma You don’t have to implement the breadcrumbs by adding the necessary code to your theme’s files. However, if you choose to insert the breadcrumbs by using the [wpseo_breadcrumb] shortcode, it would require you pasting that shortcode on every single page, post, etc that you want the breadcrumbs to appear on. By including the breadcrumbs code in your theme’s files, it will ensure that they appear automatically.

We also have directions for implementing the Yoast breadcrumbs at the following link: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/implement-wordpress-seo-breadcrumbs/
