• Hi,

I recently install WordPress onto my website, works fine and looks good.
But i would like to implement it into my site abit more, without going to /wordpress to view post/topics.

I would like my posts/topics to goto my home page. Like this website has done.. https://www.mafiawarstrategy.com

Is it a pluggin? Or just some editing? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • That page you are looking at IS a WordPress site. There is no plugin, the homepage is the WP page.

To do that you would need to make a WordPress page that replaces your site’s homepage. You can share links between the WP site and the static web site – some pages listed in the Nav will be WP pages, others HTML pages. It seamlessly switches back and forth between them as needed.

Is there anyway i can have the new topics in boxes like on that website, without making my home page a WordPress page?

    Thanks.

Here is an article about adding WP content to non-WP web pages

That site was a great help, worked aswell. But i think i’d have to make WordPress my home page and change it accordingly to get the right feel, shame really when i like my site as it is.

I just wanted some boxes with topics in and where people can post replies.

Do you know what pluggins that sites used if any at all, to get that look. As it’s something i’d be interested in doing. They have added links on the right and nav bar, is this a standard thing i’m able to do?

    Thanks.

If you are referring to the site from your original post, as I said, that site IS a WordPress “blog”. What they have on the site is built into the theme they used. I’m sure they customized the theme as well.

I recently included content from a WordPress site in the middle of an HTML page using an iframe for display. The intent was just what you are looking for, to let people read content and post replies. It was simple to add. You can have multiple iframes per page also. Only disadvantage is long content requires scrolling a scrollbar

Ok, well i found a nice theme, it’s the same as this one https://www.beforeyoukillyourcomputer.com

But they have a login box on the right, but by default i dont, and would like to add one. Is this a pluggin?

Also where you see the main picture, top right, you can upload a new one. But when i do, that space just turns black. Do you know why?

    Thanks.

As far as the image, most likely you are not putting the image in the right place on the server, or else you are specifying the wrong URL to the image, or using a relative file path.

Paste the image URL you are entering into the sidebar into the browser address bar. If the browser does not display the image you are entering the wrong URL. Find the correct one and paste that one into the sidebar code.
