    Hi,

Your plugin is awesome…it has been working great.
Unfortunately, recently my site got hacked….the Japanese attack where 1000s of URLs are auto generated.

Question 1: Can someone tamper with your plugin to “inject” some/all of those spammy URLs so that whenever your delivered sitemap is submitted, request for those URLs are also submitted?

Question 2: There is something else I noticed with the sitemaps.
If you can kindly help me with that.

I had submitted the new sitemap.xml in Google Console after cleaning the website.
We are a multilingual site…so, below are 2 sample URLs

    https://indiatrotter.com/sitemap.xml
    https://fr.indiatrotter.com/sitemap.xml

Though both shows “success” status, both have different issues.

    With https://indiatrotter.com/sitemap.xml
    Discovered URL 0
    Error 0
    Valid with warning 0
    Valid 32
    Excluded: 5.97 K

    With https://fr.indiatrotter.com/sitemap.xml
    Discovered URL 375
    Error 0
    Valid with warning 0
    Valid 1
    Excluded: 6K

Is there anything I am supposed to get this sorted?…With almost the entire thing excluded.

It is really disappointing to see all the efforts for so many months melt like this ??

Thank you for all your help.
    Regards,
    Amitava

Thank you for your kind words.

We are sorry to hear about your current issues with your website.

To answer your question, “Can someone tamper with the plugin?”. The only way an individual can tamper with any plugin in WordPress if they have access to the website codebase.

In terms of your second question about the experience you’re having in Google Search Console after submitting your sitemap. Generally, the sitemap is just a backup/discovery mechanism of Google. Google ideally should be able to crawl pages directly. We’d recommend you look at the Index Coverage report and see which URLs are not indexed, and look at their publishing status too.

Lastly, we have released a few updates to our plugin. We recommend upgrading to the latest version.

Let us know if you have any more questions. We’re happy to help.
