Immediately caused fatal error on site

As soon as I activated the plugin, it caused a fatal error.

Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: Invalid data store. in /home/myuser/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/class-wc-data-store.php:107

* I could not recover by visiting the network admin page.
* I could not recover by manually entering WordPress recovery mode (still got the fatal error).
* I could not recover by deactivating plugin with the wp-cli (command line WP tool) (received fatal error there).

I had to go into my server and rename this plugin’s directory so it would get automatically deactivated, then all was fine again.
