• The browser won’t display my images when I put them in img tags, but they will display when i put them in as css as a background. Does anybody have the same problem? Suggestions?

  • Where are you putting the img tags?

    I am putting them in the images folder in the theme that I am using. This is the full that I am using:

    <img src=”https://cholesterolbulletin.com/wp-content/themes/orange-subway-10/images/chex.gif&#8221; />

    UPDATE: Upon inserting this code and viewing the updated page, all appears fine. Clicking refresh just once will make the image disappear and when the path is typed into the browser I get a 403 Permission error. I hope this helps.

    I have another blog and it let’s me use the img tag just fine. The two blogs are both hosted by hostmonster and the image permissions are all set to 644. It works on one, but not the other.

    When I click refresh, it’s almost as if somethings changing my permissions temporarily.

    Thanks for your help actorjiml. Please let me know if you have any more thoughts.

    I sounds like a cache problem. Do you have a cache plugin activated? If so, try disabling that and see if the problem persists.

    Shot in the dark: Is “hot-linking protection” turned on by chance?

    I put this site on the appropriate list to allow hot-linking.

    It doesn’t seem to affect this either way though.

    Also, UPDATE: It appears as though more than one of our sites are having trouble with displaying images. I don’t know if it’s a WordPress issue or a HostMonster issue.

    I, too, am having problems with this. As said above, images called in image tags do not display, while those called as css background properties show up just fine.

    Looking forward to a solution.

    Also, my blog is hosted on a separate server, not with HostMonster, and I’m having this issue. Don’t know if this helps, but it shows that it’s not a problem with the hosting.
