• This probably isn’t the place to put this but I have found this plugin to be VERY limited in usability.

    1. Even thought I can add “categories” in admin, they do not show up on the user page. Thus all questions are sorted by first letter in the sentence.

    2. All questions are sorted by first letter in the sentence/question regardless of category. To me, more important questions should top the list. Or the order of questions should be modifiable in admin.

    3. Question order is immutable.

    4. There should be a + sign at the end of a question when the javascript is selected so users know they can click the question to get the answer. This is NOT apparent to many users.

    5. Sufficient spelling and grammar errors as to indicate a lack of attention to detail.

While I’m not going to completely defend this plugin, I will say that its possible to insert one category at a time, which lets you format it however you’d like and even use different categories throughout the site. A (+/-) feature would be appreciated.

The thing that makes this most unusable is the inability to insert code like links and blockquotes.

I’ve found that FAQ-Tastic does all of the above. It allows you to group your questions and display them by category with shortcode or automatically on their own pages (for huge databases). It allows users to submit new questions and rate existing ones. It allows you to place code in your answers and fully customize the CSS. It allows you to shift the order of your answers as you wish, etc.

To have the questions open up with AJAX, you can use the following adon:
