• Hi, every time I try to upload images to my site (uoguniversal.com) it only appears as the green square image symbol? There’s no error message next to it, and it still seems to think it’s the right file, but no actual image uploads. I’ve updated to the newest WordPress and looked online for similar problems but can’t find any solution. (I’ve also tried uploading on different computers/devices and it doesn’t make any difference)

    Thank you!

  • Can you check the error log?

Try deactivating ALL plugins just temporarily to see if this resolves the problem.

If this works, enable them one by one, to find the offending plugin.

I deactivated all the plugins but it hasn’t made a difference

At risk of sounding stupid, where can I find the error log?

where can I find the error log?

In the root folder of your WordPress installation

Check the file permissions of your “upload” folder (It should be 744)

I’m going to sound so stupid but I can’t find any of it

I tried to get to the uploads folder using what it said in general settings—> media, which was that it should be at wp-content/uploads but it says I’m forbidden from accessing it?

As you can probably tell I’m a complete novice at this, I’m really sorry, I really appreciate your help I just can’t find any of it and I don’t know what the root folder of my installation is

I’m genuinely so sorry this must be so frustrating
