Also, the theme and all plugins are updated, and the “Add Open Graph meta data” is enabled.

    Hey @jenjen65,

    Thank you for reaching out.

We inspected the URL you provided, and we see the Yoast output being present, including the og:image meta tag.

However, we also see a pretty long preload script within our output from WProcket, it might affect what social platforms such as Facebook see in the first few bytes of the page. If you’d temporarily disable WProcket on the URL, can you then check the Facebook Debugger if it can find the correct image? See https://yoast.com/help/facebook-sharing-updated-details/ for more information.

I deactivated WP Rocket and tried the debugger, but it still wouldn’t display an image when sharing.

The only error I shoe is: The following required properties are missing: fb:app_id

And the response code is: 200.

This issue of no images on sharing doesn’t happen on all posts, just some of them. Since disabling the WP Rocket plugin didn’t work, is there anything else I can try?

    Hi @jenjen65,

Thanks for reaching out to us and sharing the steps you have followed.

I checked the page via the Facebook debugger tool and noticed that even though the Facebook debugger is able to parse the og:image URL (see here: https://snipboard.io/Hqnw5U.jpg), the issue is with the Facebook debugger is not able to output this within the preview on their tool.

This occurs when the debugger is not able to output the image properly, so to confirm this you can copy-paste the og:image URL within the debugger tool and check it. You will notice a black image as preview, which means there is some issue with the debugger to output the image.

When I tried to share the link on Facebook via a page, I noticed that Facebook is able to output the image without any issues. See the preview here: https://snipboard.io/DCRztA.jpg

The following required properties are missing: fb:app_id is not the reason for this as the image is showing correctly for some posts.

This is so weird. I’ve never had this issue before. I do have a new theme – could that be a possible culprit? When I try sharing posts, they are all not displaying an image. Could it be my computer settings, where the image is being displayed, but only I can’t see it? I’m just a blogger, and this is way above my level, lol!
