Images won't show up in posts or pages

I recently added another wordpress installation to my hosting site so i now have two different wordpress instances on my hosting site.

Since this happened new images i try to upload are not displayed in my posts or pages. I’ve tried both versions of the uploader and even in the image preview they don’t show up. However an image will show up if you click the edit image button.

any ideas? please help!
