A client of mine is display images on their website with API, meaning the images are not in the Media section.

This means that I can’t use your or other lightbox plugins, correct, because they depend on the media file URL?

Any valid image URL in the supported content areas (posts, widgets, menus, etc.) are activated automatically. The images do not need to stored in the site’s Media Library to be displayed in the lightbox.

If this is not working for you, please provide a link to a page that exhibits the issue you are experiencing and I would be glad to take a closer look.

So you mean without me having to connect the images to any links, the lightbox should be working automatically when users click on images? Because it’s not.

I can’t give you access at the moment because it’s under maintenance mode but I’ll let you know if I can.

Apologies, I meant to write that valid image links are activated automatically for display in the lightbox.

Without links, there is nothing for visitors to click on and launch the lightbox, and there is nothing to indicate what should be displayed in the lightbox when a visitor clicks on a non-linked image.

Is there a reason why links to images cannot be added to the page/post?
