Images uploaded by specific user not showing.

  • There’s an issue with some offloaded images in my website. On the “live” site, the user “aldo” no longer exist (it was deleted) and, in the process of deleting the user, images were removed from the media library.

    Now, I have a stagging site. When I look into the media files, I see that all images uploaded by user “aldo” do not load (see screenshot1) but works normally for other users, and when opening the image there’s an Access Denied issue (see screenshot2).

    What could be the issue here? Why does the stagging site does not display images?

    WP Offload Media Team here. Thanks for reaching out with your query we would be happy to assist.

    Are you using a shared bucket between your live and staging site?

    I believe what happened here was that when you deleted the user on your live site and deleted all associated content with that user, WP Offload Media also deleted the images they uploaded on your bucket.

    When you delete an image via Media Library, the file gets deleted on your bucket as well.

    With that in mind, if you are using a shared bucket between your live and staging site, after the file was deleted on your shared bucket, your staging site is no longer able to retrieve this image from your bucket causing that issue.

    If you no longer need the files uploaded by the deleted user, I’d just suggest re-syncing your live and staging site’s Media Library so that the broken images will no longer show up on your Media Library.
