• I downloaded WP 2 today and got it running. It appears to work fine in all respects except for the image uploading. First of all, I only get an “Upload” tab under my text editor on the “Create New Post” page. I can select a jpg to upload but nothing happens. No thumbnails or confirmation of any kind. The only way I can verify that the files are being uploaded are by browsing down the wp-content folder hierarchy (into year then month). So the files are uploading but I’m not getting the thumbnails or image browser that I hear everyone talking about.

Surely, I’m not supposed to remember the url’s and type wp-content/uploads/2006/01/blah.jpg in order to embed them manually, should I?

  • gornik321, thanks for this fix. Soo simple but it took a while to figure it out ??

I hope this fix gets into the next release?

    Yooakim

thanks tgs. i had similar problem (able to upload images but inserting them into posts resulted in the alt text only being viewable). went into WinSCP, selected wp-content/uploads folder, set permissions to octal 777, checked Set group, owner and permissions recursively, and bingo!

I’m having a similar problem. When I drag and drop thumbnails into the wysiwyg editor, it fails to add the directory name that my WordPress install resides in. So, instead of https://www.hostname.com/wordpressdirectory/wp-content/uploads…, it changes the url to merely https://www.hostname.com/wp-content/uploads, causing a broken image. However, if I right click on the thumbnail I want to add and select “Send to Editor” from the menu that pops up, it works fine.

killjoi – Known bug with Firefox (drag’n’drop hoses path). Should be fixed in future release.

I had the same problems on WP2.0.4 and ImageMmanager
and fixed the problem with this:

in WP-options -> divers i added a “/” at the of the directory
    in WP-options -> ImageManager i checked that
    Base image directory:
    &
    Base image URL:
have exactly the same ending “…/wp-content/uploads/images/”

because i remarqued an error in the html code in the editor (html button)

and last but not least i made CHMOD 777 all the uploads directories and the full content (files) of ther ImageManager PlugIN directory.
    Thanks to all

Sorry there is an error in my before post:

-first make all the CHMOD’s in deep folders
    -then only check your configs

    for info my config:
    PHP Version 4.3.10
    mysql 4.xx

A good thing would be to have all the files Chmod’ed as it should be and a plugin for transloading (x server to x server) without loosing the setting what i think happens on win-boxes?

Or does some body know a tool for making CHMOD -r on windows directories? as some ISP dont allow shell?
