Images too small when saved on Chrome Mobile

    Some of the images when saved from a post onto a mobile device from Chrome Mobile are way too small when you view the saved images on your phone. They are tiny and have a lot of blank space around them rather than a full-size image. I tested a couple other WordPress sites and it is the same on those sites too. I tried deactivating all plugins and reverting to the default theme and the issue persisted. All images are 72dpi and within 2000px x 2000px. Even smaller images seem to have the same issue on Chrome Mobile.

  • the website is responsive design and serves different size image according to the screen size. Each image on the size is linked to the full size image. User can save the full size image on both mobile and desktop.

    @lcf I’m sorry but I don’t think you understand my issue. When the image is saved to my phone, the image is super tiny. When I save images from websites not made with WordPress, they save as normal size. But when the website is a WordPress website, the image is super tiny when it shouldn’t be. On Chrome Mobile only. Safari saves the images properly.

    Since it is a Chrome Mobile browser only issue then it is not a WordPress problem.

    Try disable Chrome browser data saving feature or switch to Desktop view in mobile browser.

    @lcf It is a WordPress issue though because other types of websites don’t do this – just WordPress websites. My client needs for her customers to be able to save images from her site on Chrome Mobile without them being super tiny.

    Anyone have any insight as to why WordPress website images are very small when saved from Chrome Mobile browser?
