• Last week the site was fine, I have made no changes since then (except just updating to 4.6.1 with no difference made).

All images are not showing. In place a rectangle/generic image icon is in it’s place. Hovering over I see the image url, which is the proper link to the image on my server’s file manager.

Within WP admin media library images are also missing. If I click “edit” is the only time I can see image. Going to the image filepath results in 404 error.
    Example: https://superdeluxeart.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Box-on-Fire.jpg

I did find a past forum discussion with an identical issue.
I don’t have a htaccess file within the wpcontent/uploads directory as they noted (their issue was solved by renaming that to htaccess.txt).

I’m also not seeing other images in admin, for example when I got to “themes,” its all just empty boxes. I’ve tried numerous browsers and all the same.

    Any ideas?

Can you show us a page with the issue?

Did you try deactivating your plugins to explore whether any could be responsible? If you did and none were, keep all plugins deactivated and switch to the Twenty Fifteen theme to see if it’s an issue with your current theme.

Are you sure your images are there? I checked the directory of one of them and it appears to be empty: https://superdeluxeart.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/

Can you double-check if the images are there via FTP or a File Manager tool?

Images are via File Manager. They are there – path is equal.

Deactivating plugins and changing themes did not make a difference.

I can confirm what @anevins said

All of the subfolders in your 2016 folder “appear” to be empty.

Have you tried uploading a new image for testing purposes?

I have, uploading a new image results in the same result.

All of my images are in the file manager directory under the correct file structure. I can access each one of them there.

    @greasegirl

Yes indeed, They are showing like you mentioned earlier and that’s also why I used the word “appear”

If you have already tried to disable all plugins and that did not work and you have already tried uploading a new image and this still didn’t work,

They only thing I can think of is trying to upload an image file via ftp to /wp-content/uploads/2016/09/. Completely bypass wordpress. Then load that file directly in your browser and see if that work.

Other than that you could look into file / folder permissions but that’s not something I can advise you on.
