• Resolved Go Eat and Repeat

    (@go-eat-and-repeat)

As of three days ago, all my images aren’t pulling to my website. My website is https://www.goeatandrepeat.com
I will see some but previews on my left side bar won’t pull all images, and once I click in a post all my images do not appear there either. I don’t know why it is suddenly doing this but as this is a food blog, photography is of critical importance.

Your images are being served through Jetpack’s Photon CDN, and here’s one of the broken ones: https://i2.wp.com/www.goeatandrepeat.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/DSCx6966.jpg

Instead of loading an image, Photon reports:

We cannot complete this request, remote data could not be fetched

This happens usually when either Photon is blocked from accessing your source images (usually by some sort of download/copy/hotlink/bandwidth protection) or the image takes too long to load and Photon just sort of gives up.

Judging by the speed of your site right now, I think it’s the latter. At Jetpack -> Settings in your site’s Dashboard, deactivate the Photon module and see if the images and overall site speed improves or if the site is still rather slow.

After deactivating that photon is definitely seems slower but is pulling more images (albeit slowly). I checked my site at work earlier and everything looked fine, but on my laptop and iPad my images are not showing.

Your site seems to be a bit faster now, so it’s possible that Photon might work again.

Hi James, The speed is better but my photos are still not showing up consistently ?? Is there anything else I can try?

Try to narrow down what’s slowing down your site.

During periods of slowness, try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Sixteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

If neither of those make any difference, then run your site through https://www.webpagetest.org and https://gtmetrix.com for some helpful data and recommendations.

Thank you for your help James! Turns out it was one of my plugins that wasn’t working. I’m so relieved to have my page up and running again. Thanks a million! =)
