Images show up everywhere except in Edit Posts.
-
I’d set up a WordPress cartoon blog at https://www.stooryduster.co.uk using Comicpress as a theme and it was all working fine. To start I had everything in a sub-directory for testing.
To make it live I moved the WP index file out of the sub-directory and into the root. The blog worked fine but in Comicpress itself no images show up within edit posts and the text says ‘no comic files found’.
Uploading an image didn’t register in CP bulk edit either.
Of course – idiot that I am – the box to tick was in CP manager config, ‘(Use the old method of finding subdirectories (if your comic directories are at the root of your site, and your WordPress installation is in a subdirectory, enable this option))’. Although – the index is at root and the comic directories are in a sub-directory but it still worked to a great extent.
Manager is aware of and can now count all the images in comics, comics-rss, and comics-archive folders but they don’t show up in Edit Posts within WordPress. CP manager does not say ‘no comic files found’ anymore.
But in WP Edit Posts the image does not show up, the alt text for it displays when you hover over the position it should be in (it shows a narrow black line). I checked the file path and it is assuming all the comic folders are in the root directory but everything else knows that they are not. The blog displays all my images and will display images in the site itself but not in edit posts.
I can upload an image, edit the post make it live and it all works but still no thumbnail in Edit Posts.
Does anyone have any fixes or suggestions that will help?
I’m trying solutions in a local installation on my laptop.
