You can see this on any page not just this one. After latest updates, WP, Divi, Jetpack … I realised that some images are missing when Jetpack image settings are enabled. Disabling the Jetpack image CDN turns them back alive.

    Please fix it.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

Is site accelerator/image CDN still disabled? I am able to view all the images from my end.

    Thread Starter peterlanephotography

    (@peterlanephotography)

it is. It’s not about all images but some images. In each page/gallery I have at least 1 image missing. When CDN is off it appears then again disappears when on. The only way is to delete it from WP and reupload but probably with a new name. There is an issue with the CDN or code parsing …

Can you provide a few URLs to the images that are not showing up? On every page that I visited, 100% of the images are loading successfully.

    Thanks,

From the first link provided, this is what I see:

It doesn’t appear that any picture is missing. What picture is missing on your end?

This sounds like a potential browser issue. Have you tried logging in using a different browser or clearing your browser’s cache? Have you also tried disabling all of your browser extensions to make sure there isn’t any conflict there?

    Thread Starter peterlanephotography

    (@peterlanephotography)

How about the second one? I cleared cache and tested on 3 browsers with same result. Same on mobiles. When CDN is off it appears normal. Strange

I still see all the pictures from the second link:

For your computer and mobile devices – were they all on the same network? have you tried checking the site on a different network? Also, if you can provide me a few URLs of the images that are not showing up for you, I can look further into this for you.

    Thanks,

How can I submit a screenshot? Same link 8 images missing on 4g mobile, 4 different browsers.

You can use a service like snipboard.io to share screen shots here.

Are you able to connect your mobile to public wifi at a library or coffee shop and check if the images appear then? If they do, the problem is likely with you mobile provider not loading the images from our CDNs servers.

This is from a friend abroad. I asked few people from different countries and they report the same. So, it’s clear it is not the network and honestly it doesn’t make much sense. How can one photo open and another not in the same network? Or it works well in your network only if having more priority access or cache to the cdn servers…

Do you have the gallery loading in a random order, or always the same order?

Random orders can tend to slow things down, as we have to re-cache the original image as a new size for the mosaic, and sometimes the origin server times out because of that.

    Thread Starter peterlanephotography

    (@peterlanephotography)

It is random but it loads quite fast and until 2 weeks ago I never had a problem. Also, why same photos miss?

Is there any overall improvement if you set it to not be random?

    Thread Starter peterlanephotography

    (@peterlanephotography)

I just made an experiment on another site:

1/ two pages improved when turned from tiled mosaic to tailed columns. Third one didn’t improve.

2/ Third one didn’t improve when random was off.

3/ Third one (all of them) improved when Jetpack optimisation (CDN) was off.

4/ Third one improved when gallery images changed from thumbnale to full size.

5/ Fourth page gone thru all this incl large and back to thumbnale – no improvement.

    Cache always purged during tests.

    You see quite unstable results.

I believe the problem is some kind of server caching by the CDN server as it’s not different but always one and same photo missing.

Hi there, are you gonna fix it? It’s a long time ….

Here another page, same for all galleries on the website:

    https://mybigfatgreekweddingservices.co.uk/greek-wedding-north-london-photography/

See my previous message with the steps applied. The successful steps are not successful anymore as after WP upgrade and test, some images are gone and replaced by empty placeholders.

It’s not my network as I asked people around the world to test it with same result.
